Luxembourg 1^st September – EuroDNS, in partnership with Sedo, is glad to announce the launch of the newly created whois.de service (www.whois.de), a major platform to gather a wealth of information about Internet domain names including ownership lookup and availability for Registration. The service uses the data available from databases maintained by official Internet Registries (i.e : .DE, .Com, .Fr…) whose main purpose is to determine who is the owner of any given domain name. « Over the years Whois Services have been used more and more by a variety of Internet stakeholders, from domain name buyers to law enforcement officers » comments Xavier Buck, CEO of EuroDNS « by regrouping the data provided by more than 50+ Registries in one convenient interface, we will enable users to do much more than that ». Every query offers additional information, including availibity check for an identical name in more than fifty additional Top Level Domains. Additionaly, thanks to a partnership with SEDO, the leading Domain Name brokerage company, any query will show in realtime which of these domains are available for acquisition in the aftermarket. The flexible Whois.DE interface will bring a consistent interface to any user, whether it wishes to buy the domain from a third-party through SEDO’s service or, if available, register it directly thanks to EuroDNS one-click backend. Luxembourg 4th August – Meet EuroDNS, a Luxembourg based Registrar, at the fourth DomainvermarkterForum taking place in the Berlin Marriott Hotel from September 4th to 5th, 2008. After last year’s success, EuroDNS has decided to participate again and to bring its expertise and knowledge to the discussion panels. 
 

The DomainvermarkterForum will gather an interesting crowd of domain investors with more than 120 participants expected. It is the most important event in Germany and it will also attract the international scene with, for the first time, simultaneous German/English and English/German translation services.

Representatives of the largest German Registrars, Online Advertising and parking companies will be present as well as some high profile actors, beside EuroDNS, from Europe and the USA. The two days’ conference will be divided into presentations, networking and the domain auction.

Last year’s DomainvermarkterForum was a real success. Participants came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg the Netherlands and the USA and guest speakers were Tim Schumacher from SEDO GmbH, Frederick Schiwek from EuroDNS and Richard Wein from Nic.at. July 16th - Tomorrow at 15:00 UTC, the .ME registry will start its Open Registration period, during which domain names will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on www.eurodns.com.

During the General Registration (Go Live!), the registry awards the .ME domain name to the first person who submits the domain. The applications made before the 17th July have been queued and will only be taken into account on the first day of the Go Live.

The registry notes that, “in preparation, we will be completely closed from July 16th at 17:00 UTC until Open Registration begins on July 17 at 15:00 UTC. During that closed period we will not be available via EPP or Web Admin Tool; the WHOIS will remain online throughout. Firewall change requests will not be accepted until July 18 at 15:00 UTC, and will then require the standard 1-2 business days for processing”.
